ELPO Building
The building is now home to a bank, and ELPO sneakers have long been eclipsed by global shoe-brands. Ask your parents or grandparents what rubber shoes they wore when they were young and they'd more likely say ELPO.
If you have antique or heirloom shoes, slippers, zapatillas, corchos, alfombras and the like, or unique texts, old books, graphics, posters, comics, catalogues or advertisements that refer to Philippine footwear, please do get in touch with the author so that we can have them photographed or at least catalogued. This way, we can preserve or even discover things about this part of our culture and tradition.
